On March 8th, 1975, the United Nation started to celebrate the International Womens Day. In China, the womens day also called March 8thday. Why we celebrate womens day? There is a long story.
在1975年的3月8日，聯(lián)合國開始慶祝國際婦女節(jié)。在中國，這個節(jié)日又被稱之為三八婦女節(jié)。為什么我們要慶祝婦女節(jié)呢?這里有個故事要說： On March 8th, 1909, the Womens Union of Chicago demonstrated against the inequality between men and women. They demanded that they should have the same payments, the same working hours as men had, and they should have the rights to vote. They even put forward a slogan: Bread and Rose, which stood for equal payment and a better living standard. This demonstrated had caused international attention to the womens rights. A year later, a critical meeting was held in Demark, in order to promote the womens liberation and equal rights, the council members decided to establish the Womens Day on March 8th. Then March 8th, 1911 just became the first Womens day.

In our country, during the womens day, the women usually have a day-off holiday. The communities or companies will organize the recreational activities such as a spring outing, a nice dinner and some extra welfare. On this special day, the women can really realize that a womans value is not only giving birth to a child, doing endless housework, but also find her own status in the modern society. That is she can make a different. She can do everything that a man can do. When you look around, you will find that more and more women are acting as scientists, doctors, lawyers, even leaders. Just try to remember, women rule half of this world. The life could quite different without their wisdom and beauty.
在我國，在婦女節(jié)這天，女人們通常不用上班。婦女所在的社區(qū)或者是公司會組織娛樂活動。比如春游、節(jié)日聚餐和發(fā)放額外的獎金。在這特別的一天里，女人會意識到：作為一個女人，不僅僅是生孩子，做家務(wù)，而是在社會中找到自己的地位。女人也可以有所作為。男人能做的事情，女人也能做。當(dāng)你環(huán)顧四周，就會發(fā)現(xiàn)越來越多的女人從事著各類工作，如教授、醫(yī)生、律師、甚至領(lǐng)導(dǎo)。要記住這一點，這個世界的一半由女人來統(tǒng)治。少了女人的智慧和美麗，這個世界將大有不同。
