如何翻譯不確定的數字？
1) 表示大約數目
大約數目指的是圍繞特定數目、以及比特定數目或多或少的數目。漢語在數詞前加約、約計、大約、大概等詞，或在數詞后加左右、上下等詞表示。英語在數詞前加 about, around，some，approximately，roughly，more or less，in the neighbourhood of等詞或詞組，或在數詞后加or so，or thereabout，in the rough等詞組表示，例如：
a) about／around five oclock大約五點鐘／五點鐘左右
b) about／around／some／approximately／roughly／more or less／in the neighbourhood of twenty people 大約二十人／二十人左右
2) 表示少于的數目
表示比特定數目少或小的數目，漢語在數詞前加少于、小于、低于、不到、不及、不足等詞，或在數詞后加以下、以內、以里等詞表示。英語在數詞前加fewer than， less than，under，below，within等詞或詞組表示，例如：
a) fewer than／less than／under／below／within one thousand yuan少于一千元／不到一千元／一千元以下
b) below zero degrees Celsius 攝氏零度以下
3) 表示差不多的數目
差不多，是一種特殊的表示少于的數目的方法，接近特定數目或僅差一點。漢語在數詞前加近、將近、接近、幾乎、差不多、差一點、差一點不到等詞表示。英語在數詞前加nearly，almost，toward，close on等詞或詞組表示， 例如：
a) nearly／almost／toward fifty years old將近五十歲／差一點五十歲
b) nearly／almost／close on one hundred yuan將近一百元／差不多一百元
4) 表示多于的數目
表示比特定數目多或大的數目，漢語在數詞前加多于、大于、 高于、 超過等詞，或在數詞后加多、來、幾、余、以上等詞表示。英語在數詞前加more than ，over，above，upwards of等詞或詞組表示，或用在數詞后加and more，odd，and odd等詞或詞組表示，例如：
a) more than／over／above／upwards of a hundred yuan one hundred yuan and more／odd／and odd一百多元／一百來元
b) above thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit華氏32度以上
5) 表示介于的數目
表示介于兩個特定數目之間的數目，漢語用到、至等詞連接兩個數詞，或用介于之間表示。英語用fromto；(anywhere)betweenand表示，例如：
a) from five to six days; between five and six days五至六天
b) from eight hundred to nine hundred kilometres anywhere between eight hundred and nine hundred kilometres(介于) 八百到九百公里 (之間)
6) 表示相鄰的數目
連用兩個相鄰的數字，表示一個不確定數目。英語用or連接兩個相鄰數字來表示。注意三三兩兩是特殊的相鄰的數目。表示兩個或兩個以上等，英語在數詞后加or more表示， 例如：
a) two or three兩三個
b) sixty or seventy六七十
c) three thousand or four thousand三四千
d) by twos and threes 三三兩兩

表示數十、數百、數千等不確定數目，英語在ten／dozen／score／hundred/thousand／million／billion等數詞的復數形式后加of 構成，例如：
