英語學習之to ones＋情感名詞 結構的句子
在閱讀中我們常會遇到含有to ones+情感名詞這一結構的句子，如：To my relief， my sons life was not in danger 這種結構表示由于某事的發生而刺激了我們的內心世界，由此喚起某種情感。漢語意思為令某人的是或使某人感到。這種結構在使用中有以下特點：
1.這種結構在句中的位置比較靈活，既可在句首，也可在句中或句末。在它的前后可用逗號與句子其他成分隔開，也可不用。例如：
To my surprise，his painting won the prize.令我吃驚的是，他的畫得了獎。
The captain realized to his horror that the Titanic was sinking rapidly.船長驚訝地意識到泰坦尼克號正在迅速下沉。
He did the work to his managers satisfaction.這項工作他做得使他的經理滿意。
能夠用于這種結構中的情感名詞，除了上面例句中的詞外，還有：admiration，
amusement，annoyance，despair，disgust， distress，happiness，puzzlement，joy，regret， shame，sorrow，astonishment，vexation等。
2.在這種結構中，情感名詞前常可以用great，deep等形容詞修飾。例如：
To my great joy，she said she would marry me.她說她愿意和我結婚，這使我感到非常高興。
To my deep regret，Ican not accept your offer.非常抱歉，我不能接受你的建議。
3.在此結構中介詞to前面也可以用程度副詞greatly或much來修飾。例如：
Greatly to my disgust/annoyance，he was late again.令我極為反感/惱怒的是，他又遲到了。
Much to our regret，we are obliged to decline your kind invitation.使我們感到非常遺憾的是，我們不得不謝絕你的盛情邀請。
4.這一結構還可以將兩個情感名詞并列使用。例如：
To her joy and satisfaction，her daughter won the first prize in the speech contest.使她高興和滿意的是，她的女兒在演講比賽中獲得了頭獎。
To her great disappointment and vexation she failed in English examination again.使她大為失望和極為苦惱的是，她英語考試又沒及格。
5.遇到普通名詞或專有名詞，可以用它們的s所有格形式，也可用to the +情感名詞+of+名詞或代詞的形式。例如：
To everyones surprise，his mad plan succeeded.令大家感到驚訝的是，他那狂妄的計劃成功了。
To the surprise of everybody，the beggar took out a bag of gold.使每個人都大吃一驚的是，那個乞丐取出一袋金子。
