一般在祈使語氣或go和come的不定式之后不再使用目的不定式。常用Go and find Bill(去把比爾找來)來代替Go to find Bill;用Come and talk to Ann(來跟安說說話)來代替Come to talk to Ann。即：兩個(gè)祈使動(dòng)詞用and連接起來時(shí)可代替一個(gè)命令+目的不定式。

　　在一般情況下說：

　　I must go and help my mother.

　　我必須去幫助我母親。

　　Ill come and check the accounts.

　　我將來清理賬目。

　　而不是說：

　　I must go to help my mother.

　　Ill come to check the accounts.

　　即：用and連接兩個(gè)不定式結(jié)構(gòu)來代替不定式+目的不定式結(jié)構(gòu)。(參見第246節(jié)Ⅰ。)

　　但如go和come用做動(dòng)名詞或以任何現(xiàn)在時(shí)態(tài)和過去時(shí)態(tài)出現(xiàn)時(shí)，應(yīng)帶一個(gè)表示目的的不定式：

　　Im thinking of going to look for mushrooms.

　　我想去采蘑菇。

　　I went to help my mother.

　　我去幫助母親了。

　　Ive come to check the accounts.

　　我來查賬來了。

　　I didnt come to talk to Bill;I came to talk to you.

　　我不是來跟比爾說話的;我是來跟你說話的。
