Ⅰ. subject “題目、科目” 是應(yīng)用最廣泛的用語，可指討論、研究、寫作或藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作等的題目。如：

　　① Let’s change the subject. 讓我們改換話題吧。

　　② I have studied the subject. 我研究過這個(gè)題目。

　　Ⅱ. theme “題目、主題”，尤指文學(xué)或藝術(shù)作品的主題。如：

　　① The students are discussing the theme of a novel. 學(xué)生們?cè)谟懻撔≌f的主題。

　　② Waterfalls are from very early times a favourite theme for the painter. 瀑布很早就是畫家喜愛的主題。

　　Ⅲ. topic “題目”指選定作為個(gè)人寫篇文章或一些人進(jìn)行討論的題目。如：

　　① The students were asked to write an essay on one of the assigned (指派)topies. 要求學(xué)生根據(jù)指定題目當(dāng)中的一題寫文章。

　　② Baseball is their favourite topic of conversation. 棒球運(yùn)動(dòng)是他們最喜好談?wù)摰脑掝}。
