1.a million and a half:這里是指很多
這是美國人夸張的一種表達方式，使用相當廣泛。中文中我們也會夸張，但用的數字通常會小些。
比如我們說："都告訴你幾百遍了你還記不住。翻成英文就是"I have told you a million times"也就是說我們通常使用的'百'在美國人嘴里就變成了million。所以百里挑一就變成了one in a million
2. Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get
這句話的難點在于對chocolates的理解，阿甘那個時代的巧克力很多都是一盒中口味眾多，可上面又沒有標記是什么口味，除非親自品嘗。所以，阿甘母親的意思其實是在表達，生活就像不知道下一塊會吃到什么味的巧克力一樣，只能順其自然。
3. as crooked as a politician:跟政客一樣歪曲
crook這里指彎曲的意思。
拓展：byhook or by crook意思是不擇手段
They intend to get their way, by hook or by crook
為達到目的，他們不擇手段。
