5國語言達人親授 聽歌學外語只需5步

It’s a well-known fact that music can be an effectivetool for learning a foreign language. Like original-version films, song lyrics are a good sourceof vocabulary and expressions that you can memorize—and have fun doing so. Furthermore, listening to or humming foreign songs helps you improve your pronunciation。

眾所周知,音樂是學習外語一種有效的工具。就如同原版電影一樣,歌詞里的豐富詞匯和表達供你記憶,——并且能讓你樂在其中。不僅如此,聽或者哼唱外語歌曲能夠改善你的發(fā)音。

This article will give you some ideas to help you learn a language with music. Personally, I reallyenjoy this method of learning and hope that, after you’ve tried it, you feel the same。

本文將會向你提供一些幫助你通過音樂來學習一門語言的方法。就我而言,我真的非常享受這個學習方法并且希望你在試過之后也能這么覺得。

Learning a language while listening to music: How to get better results?

在聽音樂的同時學習一門語言:如何能夠得得到更好的結(jié)果呢?

When listening to a foreign-language song, we too often don’t pay enough attention to thelyrics (passive listening). Consequently, this doesn’t help us improve our level of language。

當我們在聽一首外語歌曲的時候,我們對于歌詞常常不會太注意(被動傾聽)。所以這樣的聽歌方式并不能提升我們的語言水平。

A passion for music can become the key to improving your language skills (whether you’relearning English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic, etc。). I have lots of friends who learnedEnglish while strumming a guitar and humming at the same time!

對于音樂的熱愛能夠成為提升你的語言技能的關(guān)鍵(無論你正在學習英語、法語、西班牙語、德語、還是阿拉伯語等等)。我有許多學習朋友一邊彈著吉他、哼著小曲,一邊學習英語!

Here are 5 steps to optimizing your learning with music and enjoying yourself at the same time:

以下是能夠讓你在享受音樂的同時優(yōu)化外語學習的五個步驟:

1. Choose a song that you like

選一首你喜歡的歌曲

You don’t have to go out of your way to find music to listen to. Instead, you should start withsongs that you already listen to. Then, look up the lyrics to the songs you like。

你不必花費額外的精力去尋找音樂來聽,而是應該從你已經(jīng)聽過的歌曲開始,然后開始查閱你所喜歡的歌曲歌詞。

You could listen to your favourite foreign-language song dozens of times per day withoutactually paying attention to the content or the meaning of the lyrics. I think by now you’reaware that repetition is one of the most important factors to learning a foreign language。

你可以每天把你最喜愛的外語歌曲在毫不注意歌詞內(nèi)容和意思的情況下聽上幾十次。寫道這里,我覺得你應該已經(jīng)意識到了重復做工是學習一門外語最重要的因素之一。

2. Try to sing or hum the song without looking

盡量不看歌詞聽歌哼曲

If you want to improve your pronunciation, you should sing the song—trying your best topronounce the words properly—without reading the lyrics. In fact, as soon as you try to singthe song by reading the lyrics, you’ll pick back up your bad pronunciation habits. It’s O.K. ifyou don’t understand the meaning of what you’re singing: The point of this step is topronounce the words well。

如果你想要完善你的發(fā)音,你應該唱出這首歌曲——竭盡所能去正確地發(fā)出每個單詞的讀音,而不是讀歌詞。實際上,一旦你念著歌詞唱歌,就等于在重拾你那糟糕的發(fā)音習慣。即使你不明白你所唱的歌詞內(nèi)容也無所謂:這一步驟的關(guān)鍵是正確的發(fā)音。

A user pointed out to me in a comment that an extra step could be to try to write down thelyrics while you’re listening to the song. This is a great exercise and should fit into this processas Step 2B! (However, this step likely requires you to have reached an intermediate level oflanguage。)

一個用過這種方法的人在評論里告訴我,必須要再加一個步驟——那就是在你聽歌的同時寫下歌詞。這的確是一種很棒的練習方法,可以作為步驟2.5!(然而,這個步驟可能需要你的語言水平已達到中等。)

3. Look up the lyrics

查閱歌詞

Next, you can look up the lyrics on the Internet. To do this, google “lyrics Name of Song (orletras = “lyrics in Spanish, or paroles in French). If you need a translation, search “translationlyrics Name of Song to find what you’re looking for in just a few clicks。

接下來你就可以在網(wǎng)上查閱歌詞了。用谷歌中搜索“lyrics(歌詞) 曲名(西班牙語的歌詞輸“letras,法語歌詞輸“paroles)。如果需要歌詞的譯文,可以搜索“translation lyrics(歌詞翻譯) 曲名,這樣輕點鼠標,即得所需。

Personally, I prefer sites that show the original song lyrics and the translation on the samepage. I often use http://www.paroles-musique.com/eng/, which has over 8,728 artists, 112,935lyrics, and 20,000 translations into French (but there are also lots of others). Its repertoirealso includes music in a number of different languages。

就我個人而言,我更喜歡那些在同一個頁面上顯示歌詞原文和翻譯的網(wǎng)站。我經(jīng)常使用 http://www.paroles-musique.com/eng/,在這個網(wǎng)站上有超過8728位藝術(shù)家,11萬2935首歌詞以及2萬篇法語歌詞的翻譯(也有很多其他語言的)。不僅如此,這個網(wǎng)站目錄上還有很多其他語種的音樂。

If you use iTunes, you should install a software program that scans your music library andautomatically adds the lyrics to your MP3 files. If you have a PC, I recommend the softwareprogram called LyricsFetcher; if you have a Mac, I recommend Get Lyrical. These programsmake it possible for you to see the song lyrics directly on your phone or iPod as you’re listeningto the music。

你若使用iTunes,則應安裝一款程序,能夠瀏覽你的音樂庫,然后自動將歌詞添加到你的MP3文件中。若你用個人電腦,那么我建議你安裝LyricsFetcher程序;如果是Mac,我建議Get Lyrical。這些軟件能讓你在手機或者iPod上聽音樂的時候直接看到歌詞。

This way, even when you’re out and about, you can listen to your favourite music and read thelyrics at the same time!

這樣的話,即使當你在外到處走動,你也可以在聽你最愛的音樂同時閱讀歌詞啦!

4. Listen to the song while reading the lyrics

邊聽歌邊看歌詞

When you actually listen to the music with the lyrics, you’ll be surprised at how many words andphrases you already knew, but just hadn’t realized until now. (It’s not always easy tounderstand the lyrics of a foreign-language song on your own。)

當你看著歌詞聽音樂的時候,你會驚訝地發(fā)現(xiàn)你已經(jīng)知道那么多單詞和詞組,只是你還沒有意識到罷了。(靠自己來理解一首歌的歌詞往往并不容易。)

Focus on the phrases that you find most interesting, or perhaps just the refrain. Even if youonly know the refrains of your favourite songs, that’s enough for you to learn hundreds offoreign-language words and phrases. Here are some examples:

把注意力放在你認為最有趣的詞組上,或者僅僅是副歌部分也可以。即使你只知道你最愛的那些歌曲的副歌部分,那也足夠讓你學到上百個外語單詞和詞組了。以下是一些例子:

For French:

法語為例:

The title and refrain of Edith Piaf’s “Non, je ne regrette rien teaches the French negativepronouns “ne…rien, meaning “nothing/not…anything in English。

伊迪斯·琵雅芙的這首《不,我一點都不后悔》的標題和副歌部分教會了人們法語中的否定形式“ne…rien也就是在英語中“nothing/not…anything的意思。

From listening to Carla Bruni singing “Quelqu’un m’a dit que tu m’aimais encore, you willlearn, almost effortlessly, a complete sentence: “Someone told me that you still loved me (Sometimes, songs lose their beauty when they are translated ;-))

在聽卡拉·布魯尼唱著“Quelqu’un m’a dit que tu m’aimais encore的時候,你就能毫不費力地學會了一句完整的句子“有人告訴我你還愛我。(有時候歌詞翻過來會失去美感,哈哈)

For Spanish:

西班牙語為例:

“No, No es amor / Lo que tu sientes / se llama Obsession (No, this is not love / that you arefeeling / it is called obsession) sung by Aventura。

“不,這不是愛/ 你所感受到的/ 那叫迷戀(No, No es amor / Lo que tu sientes / se llamaObsession),由Aventura樂隊所演唱。

Even the beautiful Shakira teaches us the adjective “Loca when she sings the refrain of hersong with the same name。

甚至美麗的夏奇拉在演唱《瘋狂的》的副歌部分時教會了大家“Loca(瘋狂的)這個形容詞。

For Italian:

意大利語為例:

There is a lovely song by Charles Aznavour called “La Mamma“. In fact, Aznavour also interpretsthis song marvelously in Italian。

查爾·阿茲納弗這首可愛的歌曲叫做《媽媽》。事實上,不可思議的是,阿茲納弗還演繹了這首歌曲的意大利語版本。

Anyways, everyone has their own tastes—the point is to choose songs you like!

不管怎樣,每個人都有自己獨特的品味——關(guān)鍵是選擇自己喜歡的歌曲!

5. Listen to the song again and sing along

反復聽歌并跟唱

Now that you know the words and have grasped the general meaning of the song, you cancontinue to listen to the song while singing along. Once you’re fixed on your favourite song, you’ll certainly want to sing it while driving or taking a shower, for example. (Personally, theseare the only places where I do my catastrophic performances :-)) Before you know it, you’llhave memorized the song!

既然現(xiàn)在你已經(jīng)認識了這些單詞,且能把握這首歌曲的大意,你可以繼續(xù)聽且跟著唱了。一旦你專注于你最愛的那首歌時,你肯定會不由自主地在開車、洗澡或者其他時候唱出來。(就我個人而言,這也是我開始自己“毀滅性表演的場所)在你還沒意識到的時候,自己已經(jīng)牢牢記住了這首歌哦!

Repetition is one of the fundamental pillars of memorization. If you follow these 5 steps, I canguarantee that you’ll significantly improve. Learning a language with music is fun and takesminimal effort. It’s a nice complement to MosaLingua’s spaced repetition system。

重復是記憶的基本支柱之一。如果你遵循這五個步驟,我可以向你保證你將會有顯著的進步。跟著音樂學習語言不僅是一件趣事也是一件易事。這也是對于MosaLingua間歇重復記憶法很好的補充。

One tip I have for language learners is to alternate between “serious learning (e.g. theMosaLingua application or grammar lessons) and fun activities (music, films, etc。). This willhelp you continue practising without losing your attention or concentration or getting tired. You may be really surprised at your results!

我對于語言學習者有一個建議,即“正經(jīng)學習(如:MosaLingua應用或者語法課程)和“娛樂活動(如:電影,音樂等等)交替進行。將有助你持續(xù)練習卻不至注意力不集中、感到疲憊。你會為你的成效感到驚訝哦!
