A what是一個指事物的疑問詞：
What bird is that?
那是什么鳥?
What makes that noise?
什么發出的噪音?
What country do you come from?
你是哪國人?

B whatfor?意為為什么：
What did you do that for?相當于：
Why did you do that?
你為什么做那事?
C what+belike?要求對方進行描述，可以用于人或物：

天氣怎么樣?

what does he/she/it look like?僅指外表，也表示他/她/它像誰(什么)：
